Privacy that feels neighborly

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, and an optional phone number.
• Home address — when your community uses residency, to connect you with your own neighborhood. Never shown to other members.
• Event and payment activity — registrations, tickets, dues, and volunteer shifts. Card details go directly to our payment processor; we never see or store card numbers.
• Photos you submit — contest entries and event photos you choose to upload.
• Messages — what you post in club and event-team spaces.
• Precise location, opt-in only — shared with your volunteer team only while you turn sharing on during an event. It stops when you toggle it off or the event ends, and is never collected in the background.
• Device push tokens — so notifications can reach your phone.
• Support requests — what you send through the contact form.

How we use it — and how we don't

Everything above is used for one purpose: running NeighborlyEvents for your community — registrations, tickets, clubs, contests, volunteering, and the notifications you've asked for.

We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and neither the app nor the website contains third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Service providers who process data for us

We use a small set of providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions to provide their function, not for their own purposes:

• Stripe — payment processing for paid registrations and dues
• Amazon Web Services — file storage for uploads and photos, and email delivery
• Supabase — database hosting
• Apple and Google — push notification delivery to your device, address verification, and maps
• Cloudflare — network and connection security
• Anthropic — generates responses for the organizer AI assistant
• Slack — delivers internal operations alerts (for example, that a support request arrived) to our team

What your community can see

NeighborlyEvents is community software, so some activity is visible to the people you share a community with: organizers of an event see your registration and answers to their registration questions; club members see who's in the club; contest entries you submit are shown for voting; your volunteer team sees your name, shift, and — only while you share it — your live position. Your email, phone, and home address are not shown to other members.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by request — see how account deletion works. Deletion immediately removes your name, email, phone, address, devices, and notifications; event registration, dues, and volunteer records are retained for community bookkeeping under an anonymized placeholder that can't be traced back to you.

Security, cookies, and children

Data is encrypted in transit, credentials and secrets are stored encrypted, and we collect only what the features above need. The website sets a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in — no advertising or analytics cookies. NeighborlyEvents accounts are for adults; we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can edit your profile and address in the app, choose which notifications you receive, stop location sharing at any time, delete your account, or contact us to access or correct your information. If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and its effective date.
